How long has Good as Gold been around and what makes your store unique?

We have been open since September 11 2004, almost 10 years now, we do most things differently than other stores, just good vibes, great service and stock, under ground brands mixed with some well known ones. I think I pour a lot of love into the business and my staff and customers which creates a rad shopping experience.

How long have you been stocking New Balance and how does it fit the rest of your range?

We have been doing NB since they launched the lifestyle product into the mix (early 2012), we were the first or one of the first to get on it and it has been charging for us ever since.

What does new balance as a brand mean to you personally?

NB is just so classic! We have built an amazing relationship with NB in NZ, and I feel very fortunate that they got us onboard and support GAG, my staff and customers so well.

What is your favourite New Balance release from the last year or so?

I think the Ronnie Fieg 1300 “salmon sole” is one of my favs and the Black Beams 996 was subtle on point heat!

What is the most popular New Balance model at your store?

We have had a lot of 574’s so that has been the top seller, but its moving towards the 996, (One of the best sellers was the womens black 574 with leopard lining)

What would you like to see more of from New Balance in the coming seasons?

I've seen it and it's looking incredible!!! Wait till you see what's dropping in NZ in 2015!

How do we get more Made in USA and England New Balance to New Zealand?

We have been working on it, and its coming, late 2014 / 2015 we will be stocking a bunch more USA and UK models.

When are we going to see a New Balance x Good as Gold collab?

Im so keeeeeeen! But we will have to wait a while I think. We have been working on the GAG brand (general vibes, website, photos, look-books, branding etc) in general so hopefully the big dogs at NB notice that we are one of the better stores in Australasia and let us give it a crack (fingers crossed!) But as long as we can continue to get the limited releases and collabs we are happy as!

You guys do a great job with social media how important is it to your business?

Its huge for us, and we put a lot of energy into it.

Any last comments?

Thanks for hitting me up to do this! and long live NB!
and big ups to Kev at New Balance NZ
