There weren't many pairs of 1300s Made in England but the Flimby Pack is the cream of the crop, I am fortunate enough to have two of the three pairs. Both pairs are simply amazing and that is not an exaggeration. I really like both pairs and they are some of my favourite pairs in my collection. The shade of blue on this pair is something I haven't seen on another pair but it works so well.
Apologise I am getting a bit behind on days, the project was a bit more demanding than anticipated. Day 8 bring another pair from the National Parks pack, this pair really surprised me as I didn't like it at first. I was offered them at a great price and couldn't refuse but after having them in hand I loved them. I find the colour blocking really unique but it really works especially combined with the pops of blue.
It was late 2014 when I herd rumours online that these would be releasing early 2015, it then became top of my list for the year, I decided to make sure I had funds when the released. Release date came and I had become distracted with other "steals" that I couldn't resist and didn't have the funds for them let alone the $300 retail price I think it was. Resale prices on eBay went crazy and I have been patiently waiting for them at the right price, another Team NB member came through with a great deal and I was stoked to get them, thanks Lee. Now the search continues for an older pair.
As you can tell by these and the previous two I am a bit of a fan of teal, these M1300NW from the 2014 National Parks pack are bangers along with the rest of the 1300s from that pack. Enjoy.
Day 4 is perhaps one of the most famous and desired 1300s the M1300AR2 one of three pairs from the New Balance collaboration with Alife Rivington Club (ARC). I was at the first Loaded swap meet several years ago when a guy came up to me asking if I was interested in buying them from him, I did not but them on the spot but got his number. I ended up buying them about a week later for half retail which was a steal, I actually didn't have much of an idea back then of how valuable and hard to come by they are, now they are one of the gems in my collection. Still trying to track down the AR1 and AR3 for a good price.
Day 3 brings another 2014 release, this time is 1 of 2 Cone Mills Denim pairs the M1300DC. These were another pair I bought from Justin and I have the M1300DC arriving from South Africa in the next month unfortunately not in time for one of the 13 Days. Their arrival will complete my collection of the 2014 releases and with only the JP2 releasing last year I will be working backwards as well as trying to get this years releases. Enjoy.
Day two bring the M1300TR from the National Parks Collection which released back in 2014. I bought this pair recently off fellow Team NB member Justin along with a few other pairs. The national parks collection was one of my favourites in recent times, in fact I own every 1300 from the pack. Enjoy the shots.
Kicking off day 1 of 13 days of 1300's is the M1300GGO from the day tripper pack which released back in 2013. This was actually my first ever pair of 1300's and in the first 5 pairs of New Balance Ive owned so its only fitting that they are first up. Enjoy the shots and on feet clip.
Its been a while since I was genuinely blown away by a pair of sneakers, don't get me wrong there has been plenty to get excited about recently from New Balance but it was the complete package that blew me away with these. The shoe itself is executed brilliantly with the nubuck, perforation, reflective details and glow in the dark outsole and lounge tag. The throw back to the classic 580 tongue tag is a nice touch too. What really sets it apart is the New Era strap back with matching reflective detailing and glow in the dark logo. Not only that but it comes in a double draw box with New Era branded hat pillow to keep the shape. A package done right. Enjoy the images and on foot clip.
I have to say the stories coming out of Flimby and Boston in 2015 were great, among my favourites was this one right here dubbed "Flying the Flag" which consisted of three models a 577, 1500 and CT300. These along with the Navy CT300s are my pick of the bunch. I had fun editing these in camera raw removing the colour from the background to really make the deep red pop.
Over the last year we have seen several variants of the reengineered 1500 from all suede seamless uppers, to fantom fit to the perforated leather Size? collab. In my opinion these stand alongside the Size? collab as top of the bunch. The perforation on the sharp toe box is a big improvement to the last all suede pair and the leather details give a great finish. Stay tuned for on feet pictures.
In my opinion one of the best collections from New Balance last year was the Ski collection the 997DSLR being my personal favourite followed by these and the 998s. I love the mix of horween leather, suede and canvas. The canvas is especially nice with a teal tinge to it. The 990 is an underrated model but I love the simple branding, sleek silhouette and vibrate outsole. A real classic, enjoy the shots below.
